What is the material made of?
All Weedseal products are made from 50% recycled rubber tires and 50% virgin rubber. The steel belting is removed and replaced with fibers for added strength.
Do they have UV protection?
We have incorporated UV protection right into the rubber Weedseal. This adds to the durability and longevity of the product, and prevents fading and discolouration.
Will they absorb water, or house insects?
Weedseal is made to prevent growth. This material is a dense mat with no pores and is not water permeable. Unlike other mulch products out there, water can’t be absorbed, and insects are not harbored in the rubber.
Can the rubber mat be made to fit my post?
Weedseal is custom cut to size and meant to fit snug around the post, or object. The correct size, shape, and measurement are required for each post when an order is placed. Some wood posts (utility poles) may vary slightly in size. The Weedseal material is only ¼ inch thick and can be cut with a utility knife for minor adjustments.
What colours are available?
Currently the only colour manufactured is black.
